I am interested in exploring the human condition and the emotional life that is relevant to our present world. We're all connected by a common bond of emotions, and no matter where we are in the world, feelings of love or lack thereof bring us together. War is a complex and controversial subject that has the power to destroy or rebuild, depending on each person’s capacity for compassion. Within this chaos I sensed the opportunity for learning one man’s truth that could inspire the generosity of spirit within us to feel, the courage to question and even perhaps the will to become better. About: Forced by a sibling bond of love, the struggle of awakening to the morally degenerating and toxic consequences of war begins the healing process.
American veterans return demoralized, dehumanized, physically wounded, mentally ill, and ashamed of the betrayal, finding themselves marginalized, systematically abandoned, forced to end up homeless on the streets of our cities, in prisons, psychiatric hospitals or dead. This brother/sister relationship represents two worlds colliding and because of their love and blood ties they are forced to make that final redeeming effort to understand and forgive in order to heal.
synopsis:
Bobby is an American Veteran who returns home after already two missions in Iraq, apparently intact yet psychologically and emotionally wounded. His devoted sister, Jane, takes him in hoping to be of help during his transition back to civilian life. Jane is a proud patriot of her brother’s military service, but James is demoralized and ashamed of his actions and those of his country. Through this conflicting brother/sister relationship amidst tragic circumstances they embark on a turbulent, and agonizingly lonely journey to understand the true toxic, self-destructive consequences of war, find forgiveness within and redeem themselves from ignorance.

I wanted to explore the meaning of family love in moments of extreme hardship, and what it means to stand strong and compassionate for those we love, when we cannot comprehend and struggle to forgive.
