Begonya Plaza is a theatre artist with a foundation in acting, music and writing. After attending two years at Los Angeles Theatre Academy, and studying with Eric Morris, she moved to New York to continue studying with Geraldine Page and Michael Howard, dance at Alvin Ailey, and voice with Graham Bernard. Begonya began acting at age nine, starring in the independent Hollywood film, Big Sister. She has acted in television and film with directors like Walter Hill, Oliver Stone, Michael Mann, Tim Hunter, Clint Eastwood, among others. On the stage Begonya has been directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, in the original production of "In Arabia We'd All be Kings" at Labyrinth Theatre Company, and in other theatre productions with collaborators such as, Culture Clash, Rachel Rosenthal, Yevgeny Lanskoy, Dan Lauria, Barry Gifford, John Randolph, and Austria's Kurt Palm, performing a one-woman musical of erotic poems and songs by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill

PERSISTENCE OF MEMORY is an original screenplay with an adaptation for the stage, about one year in the life of Salvador Dalí and his lascivious wife, Gala. Seen from the eyes of a young lover.
GERNIKA LIVES, is a personal documentary film shot in 1986, about the bombing of Gernika and Begonya's father's experiences during the Spanish Civil War.
SOUVENIR VIEWS is a full-length documentary shot in New York and Barcelona. Premiered at the 2003 Tribeca Film Festival, traveled to Cuba's Latinamerican Film Festival, Los Angeles, Spain, Anthology Film Archives and aired on the IFC channel for two years.
A LUCID DREAM is a full-length play where two historical heroines, Evita Peron and Dolores Ibarruri are obscurely connected intersecting in that place where boundaries dissolve, reminding us that perhaps when we die it means we are exiled, and caught between ego and the spacious realm of God-awareness.

TERESA'S ECSTASY at Cherry Lane Theatre, 2013
En route for Avila where Carlotta will write about the renown Spanish Saint Teresa of Avila. Becky, her New York magazine publisher, and Carlotta, make a stop over in Barcelona so Carlotta can attempt reconciling with her estranged spouse, Andrés. After the vicious sparring, the laughter and the tears, Carlotta and Becky continue on their journey where the unexpected knocks at their heart and pulls the strings of their love. When the women return to Barcelona on their way back home, Andrés experiences the regret of a love taken for granted.
