Souvenir Views

New York, Euskadi, Los Angeles

When I saw Mark Larre Miranda on Prince Street selling his handmade matchbooks, I was blown away. Immediately I decided to make a documentary about this young creative soul. But I never imagined that he would turn out to be so interesting and complex. Souvenir Views became an homage not only for New York, post 9/11 but also for Marc's courage and imagination, self-imposing a rite-of-passage experience on the streets of NY City. It was quickly accepted into the Tribeca Film Festival, The Los Angeles Festival, aired on IFC channel, invited to universities, and now available on DVD.

Gernika Lives was my first film project effort. It was an impulsive of passion and a desire to understand my ancestor's history during the bombing of Gernika and the Spanish Civil War. The film is introduced and narrated by John Randolph. Availabe for viewing online, free.
