John Randolph was my friend, and mentor.

John Randolph was my friend, and mentor.

My acting teacher, Michael Howard introduced us, when I moved back to Los Angeles encouraging me to become a part of his Ensemble Studio Theater West, where I eventually played Yerma. John spoke to me about being black listed for his ties to Russia, and introduced me to the leaders of the International Lincoln Brigades. I learned so much through John, we were buddies, and worked together on several of my short films about the bombing of Gernika.
By chance, I arrived to Los Angeles and called his home when I got to see him for the last time, a day before his passing. We got to see each other and cry as he held my hand so tight. One of my angels by my side.
